Hello, Welcome to Books & Goats

Hello, and thank you for visiting. My name is Kelli Curtin, and I have loved to read from a young age. I am usually found with a book in my hand and always carry one with me wherever I go. I am a former theatre critic and journalist, so it seemed natural for me to start a blog about books and my love of reading.

I mostly read fiction. Historical fiction, horror, romance, and YA are my favorite genres. I find books to be a form of escapism, and they take me to another place, time, or world. Books introduce me to a world of characters that make me think and let me into their soul. Reading teaches empathy and kindness and enables the reader to experience something that they would not otherwise.

The name Books & Goats comes from the things I love a lot - reading and goats. In my spare time, I volunteer at a farm sanctuary and deal with many rescued animals from an environment of neglect and abuse. The ones I am bonded to mostly are the goats. The inspiration for my work comes from reading and a few goats named Livvie, Benji, Dustin & Lucas.
